Web Wizards Web Design Perth have created a summary of our services in a neat one minute video. I admit that I had some fun making it.

The Web Design business is changing everyday. There are huge changes coming with Google.

Bing are starting to get more market share and Bing local is growing bigger even though it hasn't reached the the same size as in the US.

Facebook has more traffic than Google now with people averaging 50 minutes a day on it's site.

It's exciting and sometimes scarey at the same time. We are up for the challenge and are evolving our products and services all the time.

Web Design Perth – What is a blog?

I am often asked what a blog is in relation to web design.  It is probably the older equivalent of making a diary entry except that it has many more functions. A blog is open to  the public whereas a normal diary is private. Blogs allow and encourage comments whereas normal diaries are kept to yourself. The other important feature is that people can subscribe to your blog. This means that whenever you make an entry, people can be notified immediately that there is a post.

Here is a good video that explains it.

The last straw for me was during the last storm when a colleague and I who we use as each others backup for our own emails both went down. Our customers were fine as they were on web servers but the office servers were another story.

Since then I have moved to google apps which allows you to use google as your incoming server, it filters all your emails and then sends them through. It has 8 backup servers and synchronises with your outlook calendars, mails and works better on your phone as well.
