Challenges

Araluen Botanic Park is an institution. Renowned in Australia, especially for its stunning sprintime annual tulip festival, so a website was needed to highlight the dramatic colours and busy schedule of events held in the park.

The committee of ABP required a website jam packed with information for the thousands of visitors to their site looking to make the trip up the hill to wander through the extensive gardens and historical walkways. They wanted a visually impactful website, easily accessed information, a blog for a continual flow of news and events, as well as a marketing sensibility for their use as a wedding venue.

The site also needed multi-lingual capabilities, FAQ sections, memberships, links to ticketing and bookings and newsletter and membership sign-ups.

Evolution

Our design team worked hard on ecapsulating the vivid colours and environmental nature of the landscape using stunning photos supplied by Araluen and etched to create a dynamic home page banner with 3D effects.

All through the site there are touch points to find out more – for example, maps of the park, wedding package downloads, a gardens page for a quick overview of the park but with deeper links to comprehensive information for flora and fauna enthusiasts.

The site was designed for maximum information to minimise adminstration and customer enquiries, especially through peak volumes of springtime visitors.

This is a dynamic website. That is one where information is updated regularly and one that receives a high volume of traffic. The team at Araluen have entrusted Web Wizards with hosting the website on our light speed server with 99.9% reliable uptime.

Even though training was given on managing the website Araluen chose one of the Web Wizards maintenance packages. With changes of the team at Araluen and their busy office it was more time efficient and productive for our team to keep their website up to date. It was not only with current news and events and changes of text and images but in keeping the website secure with plugin and software updates and monitoring ensuring their website has minimal issues.
