Endometriosis WA
We support community organisations
As with many voluntary organisations it takes tenacity and dedication to ensure the correct message is sent to the people who need to find it. The best vehicle to access the information is via a website where all details of the organisation can be found, events promoted, latest news published, memberships accessed and a simpler way to connect with the community found.
The challenge faced by the organisation and us as the web developer was the constant shifting sands of voluntary work. Committees change, people leave, multiple ideas are submitted making it difficult but not impossible to have continuity. But we did it in collaboration with Endometriosis WA and the result is exemplary.
Challenges
Sufferers of endometriosis often suffer in silence but there is a WA organisation that wanted to raise its profile to help more women with this debilitating condition which affects 1 in 7 women. Like many volunteer groups they had created their own website on a budget which had outlived its usefullness and with a funding grant allocated the money to a new site that would educate, inform and attract new members to the organisation.
So discussions centred around how to supply information in a clear and instructive way for not only sufferers of endometriosis but all those who support them or are interested in an academic way. This informed the layout and menus for the website and was an important factor during the design process.
Evolution
The collaboration has resulted in a visaully strong website utilising a minimal colour palette and most images in black and white in contrast to the use of Endo Pink as per their logo. Images were sourced via stock images and adjusted to be monochromatic. Stock images can be the best source of quality and impactful images if none are available within a business or organisation that would reflect the content. Of course with endometriosis this is not a simple to thing to show visually. We worked together in sourcing images that would be suitable, have emotion and be effectual in conveying the impact of those challenged with endometriosis and the supporters of those living with endometriosis and adenomyosis.
Result
Just as Endometriosis WA focus on supporting their community we like to make sure we do the same for them as they continue their important outreach and education. In fact don’t just take it from us, here is a review from Akaiti James the Deputy President of EndoWA.
“Joy and the Team at Web Wizards were easy to work with and patient when creating the new website for EndometriosisWA. The attention to detail, functionality and overall appearance of the website is stunning and accurately represents our community and the work we do. We positively recommend Web Wizards to all who are looking for a professional and stylish website build or upgrade.”
