General Support Questions

What support is included in the website hosting?

If you have your website hosted on Web Wizards server we will assist you with the following – 

  • If you have had your website built by Web Wizards we offer one hours training on editing your website.
  • When you are editing your website eg adding a new image or changing text, then you can call or email us and we can talk you through how to edit and manage it.
  • If you have your emails hosted with us we can help set up new emails for you, change passwords, and help troubleshoot some of your email issues if related to our hosting and your email setup.
  • We offer more comprehensive maintenance plans or support on an hourly basis if you need more help.

What are your web maintenance packages for?

We always recommend keeping your website maintained for security and ensuring it is kept up to date and monitored for any potential issues. We liken a website to a car, if you don’t maintain it things can start to go wrong.

We offer packages depending on what type of website you have, for example an Ecommerce website often has a lot more moving parts and plugins and interactions with customers so we recommend more regular maintenance.

How often should WordPress and the plugins be updated?

We recommend updating them regularly. This ensures security and compatibility, but it’s always best to back up your site first. We suggest contacting us to perform these tasks for you.

How do I log into my WordPress website?

You should have been emailed a login to your website once your website was made live. If you can’t find this email please contact us and we can provide it to you.

Your login should look similar to this; www.mywebsite.com.au/webwizards-login-screen or www.mywebsite.com.au/wp-admin

This takes you to your login screen where you need to enter your username and password.

If you forget your password, click “Lost your password?” to reset it.

If you foregt your username please call us.

Can more than 1 person have a login to my website?

Yes we can create new users for you. Please contact us and we can set this up. You can nominate a Username and Password or we can create them for you. Each User has to have a unique email so please provide that as well.

I’ve lost my password

You can click on the lost password link on the login screen and an email will be sent to the associated email address with a link to reset it.

Or you can contact us and we will reset it for you.

What happens if I accidentally break something?

Don’t worry—it happens! Contact us, and we’ll help fix it.

  • If your website is hosted by us and the error was caused by our code we will restore the website free of charge.
  • If you or someone doing work on your behalf inadvertently caused the error we can restore a backup or fix the error at our standard hourly rate.
  • If the error is with a third party plugin we can investigate what is causing the plugin error and fix the problem at our standard hourly rate. This may also require a new plugin licence or replacement plugin which will be charged for.

What should I do if my website gets hacked?

If you suspect a hack:

  1. Don’t panic!
  2. Contact us immediately for support.
  3. We’ll scan your site, remove malware, and restore it from a backup if necessary.
